What Was On My Husband That Night?

One night a few months ago, my husband woke me in the night, he was in a complete state of terror..he then told me what had happened. He said he was sleeping and then he felt a weight on his chest, he woke up, and a shadow was on top of him, pressuring him, and he felt as tho he couldn't move, he tried to call out to me, but I didn't wake up at first, so he then started praying to God, saying for whatever it was to get out in the name of Jesus Christ.(we are christians) and then it got up and he could then see how tall it was, it was short and a shadow, and it fled out of our room into his parents room..he was terrified as he told me this story..
We were scared for awhile then we did't have anymore confrontation from it, so we let it go.
However a few weeks ago his grandparents came to visit, and they slept in his parents room, and the next morning his grandfather told him in private that a shadow was walking back and forth in front of the bed, and it kept him awake all night... He had no idea of what happened to my husband, because we didn't tell anyone..
does anyone know what this could be? we haven't seen it since.
It is very scary, because I have a two year old, and I wouldn't want it scaring her...help

This experience is well-documented. Psychology will diagnose it as a hypnogogic state, but some will recognize that they are truly encountering a ghost during these episodes. You can read more here: Hypnogogia - Succubus - Incubus

I use the Incubus, Succubus terms, because in lore they are supposedly demons with sexual intentions. I do not subscribe to the idea of demons (as traditionally taught), so I choose to re-define them as being ghosts with such similar desires. Many times, when someone sees a shadow person...a ghost, they will believe they saw a demon. There is much confusion in the paranormal world. :C)

I tie all three of these phenomena together for some cases, as I suspect quite frankly that there is such a thing as sexually addicted, disembodied human spirits who have remained earthbound. I base this upon the many encounters I have listened to, or read, coupled with my current understanding of the state of mind of earthbound spirits. LC

I have had that experience as well. About 2 yrs ago and it scared the crap out of me. I cried for days not wanted to go back to bed.
Finally I confronted the spirit. I told him I knew he was there and that I was not afraid. I told him I would not tolerate that in my house. He has left me alone ever since...thank goodness.
