Thanks Tim for that info. I kind of figured that Radio Shack would only hold those certain models of radios for so long and then they would change to something else...I guess...out with the old and in with the new.

AM or FM, once the wire is clipped...the channels constantly scan, being able to pick up the voices through this method. I does however give the white noise effect.
I went through the site, and I found that some of the schematics weren't labeled correctly. I have tried to replicate the schematic and simulate it, and did not work. But reviewing over the data anyways. Thank you for the site, it was very interesting.
The 12-588 looks a lot nicer than the older models! I have the 12-587 and I find that it stops on a station (randomly) even though I bent the pin back. Does the newest model do this at all? Does it have a built in speaker like the 12-587?
