Very active Ecto I must add....this could be a family member that has passed before that came back to enjoy the wedding. Just because our loved ones have passed away...I feel they always return for a main event, such as birth of a baby, wedding, birthdays and anniversaries etc.

From Wikipedia:
Ectoplasm (from the Greek ektos, "outside", + plasma, "something formed or molded") is a term coined by Charles Richet to denote a substance or spiritual energy "exteriorized" by physical mediums.[1] Ectoplasm is said to be associated with the formation of ghosts, and hypothesized to be an enabling factor in psychokinesis.
From me: I don't know if it is ectoplasm. It looks more llike some sort of spiritual energy, possibly an aura or a spirit attempting to manifest. JMHO.
Is there any other info from the gathering?
This is a nice photograph, and if no one was smoking, then it is a spirit manifestation many paranormal investigators term as "ectoplasm," in my opinion. I post this because the vapor trail of the mist is not consistent with breath in cold air, or fog that I have typically seen. Breath is usually very swirly, and brownish gray, compacted. Very easy to spot. Fog is more dense, or spread-out due to it being an atmospheric condition in general, and is not a lone vapor trail that would denote coming from a single source within the environment. Smoke could produce a similar effect, so it is important to take note as to whether someone was smoking, or if something nearby was smoldering, etc. ;C)
Wanda brings up an interesting point, and she is very correct in the technical definition of ectoplasm. This is something I have been wanting to rectify for years, but have not focused on doing, as of yet. Ectoplasm is as she has described, and often times turned out to be hoaxed "stuff" such as cloth, etc by mediums looking to make a buck a hundred or so years ago.
Here are some examples of ectoplasm from the days of trickery in mediumship:
It is my hope to write about this (probably January), and give the story and many photo examples of this. Many of the ectoplasm photos on the main site (Angels & Ghosts) are of course of the spirit manifestation. :C)
No smoke means spirit manifestation, assuming we cannot come up with any other explanation for the vapor to have appeared there. Any other ideas, people? :CD
Nice catch, TK. I think sometimes on really happy occasions a lot of "positive energy" is generated, or our deceased relatives may drop by. I saw a shot similar to this at a family reunion once. I seem to get good vibes from this pic.
Your right, LC. Smoking: no. Fog: no. Breath: no. Also, I would rule out lens contamination: moisture, dirt, or oil. If no one was seeing this, that would sugest that it was only visible in the infared spectrum. The only thing left I can think of is smoke from either a bar-b-que or smoke stack somewhere near by.
