Prayers for mother and child

My step daughter is in the hospital tonight trying to deliver a baby that passed away in the womb. Little Arlan was six months along when the umbilical apparently wrapped around his neck and asphyxiated him. His entire family is heartbroken. Please remember his mommy and daddy (Kim and Shawn) in your prayers and pray for his little soul too. He would have been their first child.

We haven't heard any news today (we are in Wisconsin, they are in Calif) but hopefully everything is going all right. They tried inducing labor yesterday but nothing happened so the next step is probably something like cesarean. We are hopeful that it will be over by tonight.

The delivery is not yet complete and her mom and hubby are spending every moment with her. We just don't know how long this will take. She still has not delivered the baby. The labor induction drugs they first tried did not work--not even a twinge. They are trying her on a new drug now and hopefully that one will induce labor but we are still waiting to hear. If this one doesn't work, the doctors will consider a c-section but as the procedure for delivering a deceased infant is different than delivering a live one, it is a last resort.
