Shadow Apparition

My previous husband died 8 years ago to cancer. I am remarried now to my new husband of 6 years he is a retired Chief in the Navy. Here is my story.

One night in November at 11:30 pm I was cleaning our fish tank. I felt like someone had just walked into the kitchen. The light in the kitchen was off but the living room light was on so it still lit up the kitchen. I saw a shadow standing in the kitchen up against the counter. I thought it was my husband Michael. So I said, what is the matter honey could you not sleep? There was no response. I focused and realized the shape of the body was not my husband. At first I thought someone had broke into the house. Then when focused I realized I recognized the silhouette it was James.

I was filled with pure terror. I jumped up to the couch behind me and covered my eyes and repeated out aloud don't be scared. I stood up and peaked into the kitchen and he was gone. I ran into the bedroom and woke up Michael. I was hysterical. Michael so tired but he said, don't worry honey if it was James he will not hurt you he loved you. I had to call my parents in the middle of the night and wake them up. It was very traumatic to me it effected me till this day. I would get up extra early and take a shower while my husband was still here before work for months. I am still afraid of walking into a dark room.

Two months later in January Michael parents came to visit our home for the first time from Missouri. We were cooking in the kitchen. I decided to take some pictures of their visit. When the pictures were developed there was a shadow in the kitchen behind Michael's mother. When my husband saw the photo he said, that was freaky. It made me feel good that someone else could see what I had seen. Except when I seen James he was more defined I could see his legs and arms as if he was a person standing in the kitchen. Just wanted to share this with you and get your thoughts. God Bless.

Hello Michelle, awesome capture!

I check this photo out and looked over the details. This is a black shadow, though I won't say apparition since it hasn't taken on the full form in which you can't see details. But this is solid...if it were a shadow being casted by your mother-in-law, then you would be able to still see the wallpaper and pattern in the shadow. In this case there isn't any wallpaper being seen behind the figure.
He also is seen overlapping the end of the kitchen counter there at the end right next to him.

There are several reason why he would be there....there might be some stress you are experiencing to where it has become a concern to him, or he could be just stopping by to check in on you, and many other reasons. But it's obvious to me that he means you no harm. My ex husband died of a massive heart attack and he still checks in on me from time to time.
They just want to make sure things are fine for you, and usually it's also to let you know they are there and they still care for you.
Don't be alarmed when you see him, just acknowledge him and say hello, but then let him know that his presense like that freaks you out and to make things much easier on you if he plans to pop in once in a while.
Just assure him that your fine and you appreciate the visit, but it's time to move on.

Thank you for the reply dear. I am sorry to hear about your husband. I talk to James now and then when I have problems or just something joyful that happens. I am a very strong Christian and when I seen him I knew in my heart he was alive and well. He was no longer suffering from cancer. We will see each other again when it is my time to go home. I know he is my husband and I guardian angel. May the Lord bless your life always my dear.

1st off, condolences to you & yours on the lost of your first husband. If this is James in the photo then I too must agree that his presence is sign of his concern about you. I now wonder what the attraction is to the kitchen? Is this where you both spent your quality time together? (You don’t have to answer that if you don’t want to). It is a good photo of shadow ghost/spirit. Thank-you for sharing it.

We had just bought the house in Jacksonville, FL. We were still living in Melbourne, FL. We would make a few trips there every third week of the month. Because he was doing chemo in Melbourne for 3 weeks at a time. The only thing we had in the new house was a bed, lamp, kitchen table, lawn mower, and mini refrigerator.

We had made 3 trips with a trailer to bring stuff. We painted one room and bought a grandfather clock together while we were there. On the third trip to Jacksonville, FL he went down hill quick and died in the bed in our master bedroom. He never made it back to home to Melbourne, FL.

So I guess you can say we weren't even moved into the new house yet. We were not even packed in the old house. My entire family had to pack me and move me to Jacksonville, FL. It was like a convoy going north on I 95. So I am not sure why it is only the kitchen he appears. You would think he would be in my bedroom. He went into a coma the last three days before taking his last breathe.Thank you for the reply dear. Hope this helps.
