I would to like start a thread or book club if you may. One that we’d be able to simply share our ideas & talk about the Jesus Religion Book. (I’ve asked permission of the author of course. ☺ ) I’m looking at July 1st – 5th. Once I receive confirmation of who obtained & have read the book we could begin the thread. It is however open to all A&G members. Anyone is welcomed to share their ideas & opinions once it beings. I think it would be both educational & somewhat personal in the sense of our inner thoughts coming to life via the page & perhaps facing some of our fears of the afterlife (if applicable). So what do you think?

Here we go. Chapter one: In the Beginning.
A child forced on his knees to repent for his sins turned into a religious leader, turned Deacon & yet still there was a man who felt enslaved. To separate his religious beliefs from his spiritual. When most people believed that it was one in the same.

Inner Strength. True Spiritual connection. Witnessing what most are still trying to see/seek.
To go against what society would consider to be an abomination to his faith. LC looked deeper within. Realizing that there was more to this than just ‘man’s’ way of thinking or believing. He stepped outside of the box.

Your Jesus Religion book looks really good. I'm only through chapter one. It is very well written! I'm listening to your teachings and at the same time, I get to learn about this mysterious person called "LC" :-)

I know just how LC felt, trapped within a system of religious faith that is leading us one way, but not the true/right way. LC knew there was more to the spiritual world than just what the faith taught him. When he started to think for his own and outside the box, he seen there was more to the spiritual side.
Jesus himself was of spirit.
I could really get into a good arguement here as I feel religious faiths have been sterring us wrong for so long, and it is time to look beyond the scriptures and man made religions and start thinking for ourselves.
Being raised of Cathloic faith since I was a infant, I seen so many flaws in the church. The teachings, the scriptures, the leadership of the church that made us feel worthless because we were all sinners. The fear that was put into our heads that we should fear God, and that God was the most punishable God ever. LC knew that wasn't the case, and felt within his heart that there was more to this life and the spiritual side that the religious leaders were not showing us.
That's just it though...they want to keep you trapped by placing fear into you, and they also teach you that their faith is the only way to recieve salvation.
Once I left the church...which I left back in 1979, I was only 19 years old. I thank God that I seen this early in life before things got out of hand. It only took one time for the church to show it true colors, and I was out of there. I also tried other faiths...but none worked for me. They are all "feared based".
LC didn't want to walk through life living in constant fear, he knew there was something more. He challenged the scriptures by endless study, and he found so many flaws within the scriptures. But it wasn't only the scriptures...is was also by man, who took out bits and chunks of scriptures, and then wrote their own books on what they believe the bible was saying. It was all blown out of proportion.
I believe what LC is saying...that when a child...he was scorned by a religious leader and lead to believe he was a sinner and shown fear, but we are lead to believe that religion is the only way to salvation, which it's not. When we are children...we will believe anything as long as it scares us. But once we grow into adults, we start to see the true picture. The puzzle is not that hard to build..we can figure things out for ourselves.
I don't need a church/building, or a man in a fancy gown holding a bible to show me the way or to tell me anything different.
God created me...so why would he want to distroy me? We were all created in his image.
I hope I am not going astray with this...but this is how I feel with the whole concept of religion. I will challenge any Christian, Catholic, any religion. I hold no faith by a man made religion...as the faith I hold is within my own heart. As long as you beleive in him...you will not parish, it's really that easy to understand. But the religions want to make it so complicated and difficult, and they want your money.
It makes me so sick when I turn on the televsion, and I see these religious nuts on there preaching to us about Jesus/God, telling us to send them money and they will pray for us. While they sit there on tv and make themselves so glorified, the diamonds and gold they wear while they preach to us...that just makes me sick! I walk to my kitchen and pull out a box of Mac and cheese because that's the only thing I have to eat, and they want us to send them money so they can buy more gold and diamonds and choke on the steak dinner while I feed my face with mac and cheese. What's wrong with this picture?
I walked to church everyday...no car. Took my two children with me every sunday. A mother raising two children with hardly enough money to feed ourselves. I still placed money in that basket when it came around. They told us it was going to feed to homeless, which I felt was a good cause. Soon I would find that the pastor has a new car, and a new car for the Nuns and a new building being built on the premises that would house the Nuns...and here I am trying to gather pennies together to feed my children. Did I ever receive help from the church when I asked them for help? No, absolutely not. They just said they would pray for me. Well...anyone can pray for you...I can get on this computer...and send the message and have thousands of people praying for me in one day. Did it cost me anything? just a few minutes of my time to type the prayer request on the computer.
I know what LC went through...I walked that path also...and I will never look back. Reading his book only confirmed what I already knew. But LC gave me peace of mind and a better outlook on life. I can finally breathe, and not have to walk through life fearing everything...and fearing the God I love so much.

Very well put, Kat!! Just goes to show us, you can't control (rule) the spirit world. Religions try to shape it to their wants and needs. We all have our beliefs and experiences of the spirit world. And to think, religions try to bottle it up and sell it,......how bogus!

How ironic, religion has lost spiritual insight, a place we go to, to receive spiritual insight.

Sorry...I babbled on like that...it's just that religion is a very touchy subject for me. I can't begin to tell you how much anger I hold inside about all these churches and religious leaders.

All I can tell you is this...I dare any bible thumper to walk up to my door and start preaching to me...OH BOY!! Look out!! Out of the 8 years I have lived here..I have been lucky so far..only got 2 J. Witnesses about 5 years ago and they have never been back. LOL

LC... you have no idea what your book has done for me...lets just put it this way...I had the box of kleenex by my side the whole time. It's that deep.

and just to also let you know...I never read the bible...never felt a need to...I can't understand it anyways. I don't even like to read books...your book...I never put down...I slept with the darn book! LOL

Thank-you Kat for the expressing your thoughts & your honesty! You have something special in you Kat. That something keeps you alive, strong & compassionate, yet never turning against religion or of its teachings. You were the very one who would say NOT to.

God gave Lucifer the same thing he gave to us mere humans… The freedom of will. We choose. We decide & we will always remember that 1st time when we, as individuals, were introduced to spiritualism. (Sometimes when faced with life's difficulties, trying experiences or circumstances that are beyond our control). Or in other words by pure force. :) But it was meant for it to be that way. We're here now.

Okay back to the book. Forgive me, but I’m going about this chapter by chapter versus summarizing it.

When in the beginning, Louis Charles stated, “The bible was formerly used as a weapon to bind me”. I thought this to be a powerful statement. I too felt that knowing that there must be more to this than just the book itself. I thought…the power. The hold that the bible’s words has on mankind. Especially when preached by one who is of great faith yet little spirit. Branding of sorts. The pain caused by our past, present & future occurrences & visionary suffering yet willing to take it simply… knowing that without pain – you will gain only punishment. “Within me, I found great peace and comfort’. Now that to me, is the important element in which most people have acknowledged yet still haven’t grasped the complete or full understanding of.

With both Louis Charles & his wife choosing to free themselves from generations of religious teachings, alone in it-self, became a strong yet subtle movement. Becoming the leader of his own flesh, blood, spiritual, psychological & emotional self was like finding the golden key of knowledge. The key that is within all of us yet difficult for most to unlock. “Spiritual Freedom’. However never forgetting the foundation of his religious beliefs, teachings & experiences. Acknowledging that the foundation is also imperative to finding the spiritual self. It helps us to understand which direction we should go. He chose to step outside of the ‘normalcy’ & enter new world. A world where his senses began to sharpen.

The second chapter is one of my favorites. The familiarities…. My way of life and/or way of living breathes on these pages.

LC’s facts of the holy book. My thoughts: The bible multi-translated & re-written. Books removed & parables reformatted are just the beginning of our ignorance to the true teachings of Christ. The prophets before Christ & the scholars who by the guidance of a higher power foresaw the coming of Jeshua & his people. The personal journals written in 1st person were stories written of how, who, what & where it all began. Printed & published we now have the words of God in someone else’s translation. (Personally I’d stick to the Torah).

It is written in stone. Scriptures…. Taught to us as actual & factual words yet so indecisive with the exception of Christ himself & the outcome of his promise/’s. Hypocritical or not, the words of man are not the words of God… period. Yet if of the spirit…. will the words come to us in truth.

LUKE 8:10 Is what hit home for me. ‘The knowledge of secrets of the Kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that, though seeing, they may not see; though hearing, they may not understand.’

Seeking to find the answers…. when it lies right here within me.

I was once told that I spoke like an Indian. This man just simply couldn’t understand what I was saying.
Once, with words unspoken, I knew & understood exactly what was coming, yet everyone else just stood there questioning almost to the point of arguing with one another on what just happened or was about to happen.

Close your eye’s I said & the answer will come. Nothing.
Open your heart I said & the answer will flow into your soul. Nothing.
Open your mind & all the answers you seek will enter ever so gently. Nothing.
I reached out my hand & asked him to place his in mine - The answer is right here within me. I’m willing to give them to you. Nothing.
I leaned into him & into his mouth…. a breath of air. The ‘HA” or the breath of life. Nothing.

Yet to the man that stood to the right of me. He understood yet asked no questions.

‘Til this very day, the 1st male still speaks in riddles attempting to sound insightful. Yet he despises me for something he claims to have no understanding of yet wants so much to posses. (It has always been within him yet he’ll never know it). The sight, the sound & the touch of the unseen, unheard & unfelt with the physical senses. The deeper understanding. The true inner self. This is what I think Jeshua meant.

Sorry for going off the subject. But this had jolted my memory chip.
