I would to like start a thread or book club if you may. One that we’d be able to simply share our ideas & talk about the Jesus Religion Book. (I’ve asked permission of the author of course. ☺ ) I’m looking at July 1st – 5th. Once I receive confirmation of who obtained & have read the book we could begin the thread. It is however open to all A&G members. Anyone is welcomed to share their ideas & opinions once it beings. I think it would be both educational & somewhat personal in the sense of our inner thoughts coming to life via the page & perhaps facing some of our fears of the afterlife (if applicable). So what do you think?

This is also a subject that I have struggled with most of my life.

I was baptized a Methodist spent most of my youth in a Lutheran Church and my wife is Jewish.
I raised my children to choose for themselves.

What ever helps makes you a good person, to want you to help others, to love and appreciate this beautifully planet and all that has been given to us. To not judge others but to try and help those who may be lost.To support your family in times of need.To give from your heart with out expectations.

To me what ever leads you down this road is what may be best for you.

For many others they need religion to help guide them, and if that is what you need to be a good person than that is great.

Many churches are like clubs who ever gives the most gets the most attention.
If you show up every week and give a lot of money then all you sins are forgiven.

I have found that choosing the best religion is like choosing a insurance company.
It will only benefit you and your family if :
(A) The policy is written in a way you understand it.
(B) It benefits you in your time of need.
(C) Your Agent is always there to help explain, and deliver it to you when you need it most.

I wake up every day and thank god for giving me that first breath of air I breath each day, and the last one I take before I rest, I also thank him for all that I have been giving.
For I know that tomorrow is never promised.

Hello Louis.If there is no hell then Jesus came to save us from nothing!Im sorry but I don't agree.There have been many people who have had near death experinces who report that instead of the light and peace they felt that they were going to hell.I feel you are missleading people.The most succesful campaign of Satan is to convince people that he is not real and that there will be no consequences for rejecting Jesus and living in sin.Do you really think that the prince of Heaven would have become human and suffered a horrible humiliating death for the love of humans if it were not to save us from something awful?Satan disguises himself as a messanger of light to decieve people.He comes to kill, steal and destroy.He is the father of lies.You have been lied to.

Tinette, thank you for sharing your opinion, but you have not read the book to be able to understand what I am conveying (or how I arrive at what I share).

I am sorry, but Christianity has created false doctrines and shared them as truth in order to gain and maintain converts. You need to dig deeper into where the topics of fear you posted originated from (Hell, Satan, etc). Your basis is what you have learned from religious instructors, as I recognize the biblical references in your post.

I am sorry you feel this way, but the ideas you have shared I am very well aware of. I used to teach the same doctrines, but later found them to be lies that I learned from another.

Here are just a few, simple questions to challenge traditional Christian theology's logic:

Can peace ever be found within fear? A God to be feared could not be a God that brings peace.

Would a good and loving God create people who He would later need to cast away? If God were all-knowing, it would not be necessary to create those whom He foreknew would need to be tortured (by Him). And if God did, would that be loving?

Can a good, loving God torment people and still be loving?

Could a perfect, all-knowing, all-powerful God be capable of creating imperfect people? Could a perfect God be capable of creating imperfection? A perfect God would be incapable of creating something imperfect.

Think about those things for a bit... :C)

Ah! Tinette I am so glad to find another Christian! I have wondered the same question myself, what are these crazy people doing here talking about Jesus when they claim there is no reason for his coming to our world, why if we all did not need saving from our sins Jesus Christ would never have been born! I can't stand people that depict a false, wrong and un-Biblical view of Jesus Christ. The only correct representation of Jesus Christ is how he is described in the Bible. The Old Testament gives prophecies of who he will be and how he will be born, Jesus completed the prophecies and taught his people the truth, the heart of the law, which is love and mercy.

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength, and love your neighbor as you love yourself." That sums up all of God's commands, the Bible and gospel in a nutshell. God does not want anyone to go to hell, which is why he put on flesh and became human to live among us and teach us the way and then pay the ultimate sacrifice, a gory, painful, agonizing bloody death reserved for the worst of criminals and slaves. He did not stay in the tomb, he rose from the dead on Easter Sunday and conquered death, hell and Satan! Jesus is alive, both in spirit and body. He is coming again soon, the signs are everywhere, things are getting really bad on earth, and He will make everything right in the end.

Do you think Jesus had an option? Do you think it was his choice to be thrown in prison, put on trial, and then nailed to the cross? He had no choice. It was the people...his own peers that made him take this horrible faith of death. Jesus had no decision in the matter...so when these churches stop using this as a scapgoat that he died on the cross for our sins, then people will will faced the reality of the situation.

He simply stated..."forgive them father as they know not what they do" but yet is was the people that sentenced him to death. Are we feeling guilty because this took place? Though not one of us were there when this took place...we still feel the shame and guilt.

It's not like Jesus woke up one day and said...Gee...I think I will go nail myself on the cross today and day for everyones sins. That wasn't the case at all...he had no choice...he was sentenced to die on the cross...plain and simple.

But over the years, religious leaders claimed different telling us that Jesus died for us, he died for our sins. No he didn't. But that's what these big bible thumpers want us to believe.

I have no clue what religion you follow...and that's ok by me. But I want you to honestly ask yourself just how many books and chapters are still missing from the bible. The big major churches that hold these books and scriptures so that we cannot see them...why is this? Would these scriptures and books reveil the truth? The truth about the life of Jesus, or Mary Magdeline..etc.

Lets put it this way...if these missing scriptures and books were ever to be reveiled...the history of religion would forever be change...and the churches would fall and lose their creditibilty.

If you haven't read the book that LC wrote..then you will never understand. He's not mocking God or Jesus...he speaks highly of them. It's the falsehoods and lies that man has led us to believe for so long. It's not Jesus who wrote the scriptures or the bible...it's "man". It's their intreputations of what they believe Jesus was saying. Jesus spoke in Parables...like riddles. So now here you have a bunch of people trying to figure out what they believe Jesus spoke of...and not all of them got it right.

The bible is bits and chunks, chopped up and rewritten so many times to where we might never know the truth. But I do know this...that they did not fail to exclude from the bible...that those who shall add or subtract from the book shall never see the gates of heaven. How many times has this book been added and subtracted? Endlessly....absolutely endlessly.

The old testament...the new testament, and then each church that has also written their own little book...like the "Book of Mormon" for one example. Their own little versions of chopped and rewritten scriptures.

Of course...we know that there are going to be people who will resent this book..."Jesus Religion" and that's expected. But until you have read the book...you will never know the truth.
It's so sad about how many people have been sleeping such a deep sleep for so long.

I had a near death experience....I flatlined and died...I seen the other side...and it wasn't Hell. I commited suicide...took my own life, don't you think I should have seen Hell first? No...I seen a bright light before my eyes.

The definitions inside the book states the true meanings of Satan, Devil or demons. Not what the churches have told us what or who they are..but the true meanings of the words.

Hopefully you will find your salvation...and become spiritual within your own heart.

Wonderful to meet another heretic... in the proud tradition of Yeshua, who was, after all also a heretic.

I sounds like you use logic to counter the traditional arguments and interpretations. Some of that is pretty obvious... would a loving, all knowing creator set his children off on an adventure fraught with choices, misadventures and struggles and then punish them for doing what he knew they would do?

No, he gave us free will so that we would create unique ways of experiencing and learning... then we go home and sort it out. There is NO judgment or punishment. Judge not that ye be not judged... because self judgment is the ONLY judgment.

BTW, the word 'sin' in the original Aramaic, the language Yeshua actually spoke, meant 'unripe.' No judgment. Not a mistake. Just not quite ready yet. That was translated into Greek as sin, which is an archery term meaning to miss the target. Still no judgment... do it over. Practice.

In my work rescuing ghosts I have found that here are as many 'hells' as there are beliefs about hell. In each there are people who KNOW they are sinners and that they are being punished... and just look at all these others here being punished... I must be right, right?

But that is a belief creating what is believed. The law of attraction in action. In my experience and from my guidance from Spirit, there is NO judgment. No punishment. We are loved and always welcomed back home.

I run into a lot of ghosts who are earth bound because they believe they are sinners and won't take a chance on going anywhere. When I explain that sin and punishment is a lie and that they are loved they IMMEDIATELY go to the Light. The truth does set us free.

David, I do not know how to respond.

Your thoughts are spot-on with what I have been speaking and writing about. Nice to see truth put down in another's words. :C)

Yes, I do attack false doctrines through logic, but also debunk them through historical and biblical information. All three together are powerful and what I found helped me get free from Fundamentalist ideas. In addition, I share spiritual insights to further demonstrate how the puzzle likely comes together.

Your take on hell as being a state of mind is right on, again. We are our own judge, much like the saying, "You are your own worst critic." Choose to forgive ourselves and we are free. Sometimes, that is of course much harder to do when there are layers of guilt, shame, self-condemnation (and the like) ensnaring the mind. This, as you mentioned, is true of ghosts, too.

Your method of sending ghosts to the light (through speaking) with truth is exactly what I have been attempting to share through writing and speaking. This idea of rescue is alluded to in the Bible, I suppose. There is a passage that suggests Jesus (Yeshua) went to preach to the spirits from the time of the Flood. Wait a minute! When we read the account of the Flood in Genesis, we learn that these people were destroyed from off the face of the Earth due to being "evil." Why would Yeshua then choose to go speak to them? The are in Hell for eternity, right? Wrong. I think this is an example of Spirit Rescue. :C)

Mostly when I 'rescue' ghosts I 'download' a set of information to them quickly with out 'speaking.' Counseling sessions are time consuming. Lots of people work that way tho.

It is something like: Hello... yes I can see you... do you know you are dead? ... it's OK you don't need to be forgiven because you were never judged... it's time to go home... they will explain it all there... go with the Angels to the Light / Love... everyone is waiting for you.

We could have a great time bouncing around your scriptural knowledge (mine is very limited) and my experiences. Let me know if you think that would be fun and useful.
