Those who prey on people's fear.

I think it is time to expose people who prey on those who feel they are being haunted. There are true, psychic’s and then there are charlatans who call themselves “psychics”. They charge people who have been living with the fear they may have a ghost. In many cases there are children involved, these children are scared to sleep in their own beds. They also, in some cases increase the fear the people already have.

These are the rates for one of the places I have found at a certain website:
Consultation Fee: $150 (30-45 minutes)
Ghost busting fee: $250 Per Hour + Travel
Their pictures, they claim to be ghostly images are nothing more then camera movement and shutter speed, and the pictures that were taken, were of a car. Great ghostbusters when they can not even tell what they have in a picture, huh.

The next website I found her charges are as follows:

30 Minute Spirit Depossession Session                              $250.00

60 Minute Spirit Depossession Session                              $350.00

90 Minute Spirit Depossession Session                              $450.00

She requests payment is as follows; “Due to credit card issues, payment must be made through Money Order or Western Union transfer. No pictures were listed on her site.

Now the next lady, I personally have had contacted by email because she was the person I was informed about. I have four email in which she replied to mine. Her site does not include any prices, and her ghostly pictures are eight pictures with what looks to be dust orbs.

When I found out Ruth, new member here, was looking for some answers, I found out she had contacted this lady by phone to reach out for help. This is what she told Ruth, and Ruth relayed the information to me “ $275 to come to the house and she had lowered her fee due to the economy but normally charges $200 an hour”. Well I about fell on the floor knowing people were making that much money off of others fear, also I was mad!



Ruth had talked to her on the phone, she was told this by the lady, that her spirit guide was telling her that the male ghosts had attached himself to Ruth’s son-in-law, but when I questioned the lady on her authenticity in a email of her being a psychic, she responded to me, “no I don't do readings over the internet. Yes I can but I personally do not trust the energy. I only read people who come to my office for a reading. Anyone who does readings over the internet shouldn't be trusted because there is too much interference”, this was taken from one of the email.

When I asked this lady what her she charged this was her response, “normally don't put pricing over the internet but I understand your concern and hear your urgency in the matter. We charge 275.00. It may take us from 2-3 hours depending on how many spirits and how many questions your family will want us to answer.”, this of course is by the hour. Of course I asked her, “I need to know one more thing.” How long will this take? Will this be a one time visit?”, and her response was. “yes it should be a one time visit. As long as no one is channeling or has any entities attached to them it should be very straight forward.”, how much you want to bet that someone in my house was going to have an attachment, she had already told Ruth over the phone, “that her spirit guide was telling her that the male ghosts had attached himself to her son-in-law”.

I just hate the fact that we have people out there who prey upon people in need, living in fear day to day is awful. I hope that all investigators who go into private residences have the knowledge to perform cleansing for their clients to prevent these charlatans from profiting off of fear.

I am happy however we got the help Ruth needed from a group in Canada where she lives. This group in a email to me said, “I'd love to know the name of that "ghostbuster". Our services are free, we have traveled across the province at our cost for this. It is a science. 200 an hr would mean almost a grand for most investigations. That is disgusting.” I give David Gibb and his group, C.H.A.P.S. much thanks for helping Ruth in this matter.

Mr. Gibb is setting Ruth up with a group near her home and is also requesting they have their medium along with them. He also made it a point to let Ruth know no one would charge her any money.

It is very true that the paranormal is a science, and we still do not know all we would like too. Each investigation is a learning experience. I hope in writing this that people will understand that and you should not be charged. If someone wants to charge you please search for help elsewhere. Check out your local Paranormal groups before you contact a medium who charges.

Up date to the post: Today I also received a email from another group in Ruth's area in Canada willing to help. They also state, "if a home is to be investigated because a person is scared/worried/being otherwise traumatized, it would be wrong to charge for the use of my ability to help them out. I know all members of my groups feel the same way!". I would like to say thank you, to the Southern Ontario Paranormal Society (SOPS) for responding to someone in need.

wow - how do you get the spirit to leave on its own if you do not bless the house first? very interesting. the people that came to my house to help me said unless you are firm and bless the house and order the spirit to leave in the name of Jesus, the spirit will stay there. I do not see how you could cleanse and bless a house AFTER the spirit leaves - you would need to do it to get the spirit to leave, and yes then again afterwards. How do they propose getting the spirit to leave without cleansing and blessings? guess I will check out the website but it makes no sense to me.

I appreciate your comments you have made so very much. It was my sheer pleasure to help in anyway I could. I also appreciate the information you gave me so I could investigate this problem. I do hope when others are faced with the problem you have, they will search for help in the right places. Many of the investigators here, would have been at your front door in a minute if we lived closer. I appreciate the groups I mentioned before in your area that are willing to help you, and of course at no charge. I would wish those groups would run a ad, for one week next to "Ghost Buster", offering their service for free. I wonder how long she would be in business then. If any of the TV channels in your area does investigative stories, they might be interested in someone who scams people, for the service of "Ghost Busting", when there are many good paranormal groups who do it for nothing. I wish you, and S.O.P.S find a answer to your problem.

this site is truly one of if not the best of it's type. I really love how there is so much good will and positivity amongst the members. with that being said I have heard of a few mediums and psychics, through documentaries, only being able to harness their abilities in absence of greed and personal gain. just wished I could remember the names of these people. they would try to charge to support their families and it would stop but then they would only take small donations or nothing at all the abilities would return. at least that's how it should be right? it's good to know that if I or someone I know ever needed help or guidance I could turn to all of you.

I think it is a great site also, that is why I joined. There are many good psychics out there. I have seen documentaries where the psychics help solve a murder case, and they never charged for anything, they have come out looking for missing kids, and have never charged anyone, so there is good people out there. I think that all the members here try their best to help one another, a family of sort.

that is great that you have really looked into this. Last year I had a presence attach itself to my son. And it was giving him nightmares and morphing pics on him. Instead of calling in people that would charge (not that i would ever put a price on my Son's peace of mind and safety) I called my best friend and we stood there in my son's bedroom and got rid of this thing. What most parents need to remember is the strongest bond, the strongest power is a mother's love. No amount of money or random psychic can top that.

Find help by locating investigators in your area, if they can not help ask them if they know someone. Find a local Spiritual Church in your area.
