Wondering about strange happenings around my house?!

Hey all! I'm a n00b here, but I would just like to say that I am happy to be @ Angels & Ghosts! Very interesting stuff here!

Here's my cliffs notes version of our events:

2 years ago we purchased this house. It was an old brick style ranch built in 1960. It has had 3 owners. The original owner, the descendent of the original owner, and the real estate agent who bought it and flipped it.

When we first moved in, we began to get really bad fishy odors coming in random "columns" around the house (as in, we could step in the column and smell it, and step out and it wouldn't be so strong). At first we thought it was animals crawling in the basement and dying somewhere in the crawlspace.

This month has brought on a slew of activity, that I am a little intrigued by. Last year, we had 2 deaths in the family, both on my husbands side. His grandfather, and his 18 year old cousin. I have always felt their presence, but this time, it's different.

The smells have returned, and the odor is disgusting. Like rotting fish. My husband was in the basement last night w/ his friend preparing to feed the dog. As he was going to shut the basement door, it slammed behind him forcefully (there is no way the wind could do this, as the door is a bit sticky and will not shut properly if not slammed). After that happened, his friend swore up and down that he heard bottles clinking (much like a toast). Then, his pack of cigarettes went missing. Classic. Tore the house apart..it's like they poofed into thin air. Later that evening, as I took my middle of the night rounds of the children, I noticed the cat trying to catch something in the air. My first thought was a moth or fly, but there was nothing physical there!

This energy is always following my husband. He is very intuitive, and not scared of phenomenon. Maybe whatever is here is attracted to him.

Any insight?

I'm attaching some strange photos I took today in the basement. Maybe orbs? On has a red "tail" on it..and they only appear in the picture if my husband is near.
So far, we have dug up about 100's of old fashioned cork liquor bottles in our backyard. I'm thinking maybe this was a hotspot during prohibition and maybe something is hanging onto a negative event here.

On the picture of my back porch, I see an orb (or dust?) in the right hand corner of the picture..

And the red "thing" in the picture was taken w/o a flash (all of them where)

In the last picture you have, the one of the overlook of the basement steps and door, was there someone standing in the crack of the doorway? If not, I see a face there... very interesting story. Take the pics when you hear the noises, I am interested to hear more on this and see more pics... ?Thanks

On your second picture your flash was off therefore you had a long shutter speed creating the effect that is shown in your picture.

Even if it is a slow shutter speed, maybe the change fairy has visited my basement. >.> My husband and I still smile every time we see the blown up version of this picture. Thanks for taking a look guys!
