Bible, Ghost

This past summer I decided I wanted to do a small website about the paranormal. One of my interest was how people interpret the bible in what it says about ghosts. After clicking onto the second site I came upon, some of the comments made on the website, in my opinion were one sided from people who do not have open minds. Their minds are closed due to the interpretation on what their religion has told them. The guy who started the conversation made a comment and to quote him, “I was reading Luke chapter 16. The Bible specifically covers whether there are ghosts. It’s right there in “black-and-white,” folks, so if any of us are a believer, yet still watch that garbage on TV about ghosts and spirits”, well needless to say I did not agree with his statement. I also did not agree with other comments that were made, such as, “The bible makes it very clear. When dead you go up or down. So with that being said. Its demons tricking people” , “Remember that angels, both those of God and those who rebelled against God, are NOT human. They aren’t going to appear as themselves to most people. So they take on the form of a benign spirit to fool people, and when they can’t fool them, they do things like haunt people and play tricks on people, sometimes even harming them physically.
It’s another of Satan’s games. Don’t fall for it.

Well I could not help myself and I also submitted a post and it reads as:

Why does the word ghost even exist in the bible if there is no such thing? Why does the words “Holy Ghost” exist, to me it is naming of which ghost they refer to, meaning there are others. If people think the research people do is garbage then they do not have an opened mind. To believe in God or the Holy Spirit you must have an open mind, have you ever seen God or have you seen the Holy Spirit or have you ever seen an angel with wings? If you have then I would think that is a part of a paranormal experience, it is not every day people see such things. I believe when people read the bible they have their own beliefs or interpretation on what it truly means. How can you believe in Demons and not believe in ghost, does that mean you do not believe in the Holy Ghost?

The meaning of ghost is as follows;

1. The spirit of a dead person, especially one believed to appear in bodily likeness to living persons or to haunt former habitats.

2. The center of spiritual life; the soul.

3. A demon or spirit.

So if you believe in demons you must believe in ghost.

I have seen a ghost or apparition what ever term fits and I have heard voices on recordings that I have made. If they were not ghost, then what were they. I do not believe they were of a demonic nature because no harm was ever done. I don’t believe every ghost is of a demonic nature. I don’t deny anyone their personal beliefs, but I wish people would open their minds more when it comes to the research concerning the paranormal activity known as ghost.

Well this guy had already hit a nerve so my next response was directed at him. Sorry guys, my next comment was directed at him when I said “manly thing”, I did not mean men in general. So guys please don’t take any offense.

My Post;
“Who knows why there are more women posting , it very well, may be that women have a ability to sense spirits or it may be that men do not want to admit they may believe, you know a “manly” thing. Women are more willing to discuss this topic and I think it is because of their sensitivity.
Just as always there are good and bad meaning spirits and demons. I wonder if these spirits/ghost/apparitions etc are kept here by demons who wish that they will not find their way into the light of God or may be these spirits/ghost/apparitions etc, are really lost souls. In quoting Carli “we cannot be certain of until we meet our Savior face to face”. It may be that they make themselves known to find help in some way or they may refuse to believe they have passed away. After some time of recording evps in my home, I spoke out and said, ”In the name of Jesus if you are here to do any harm to me or anyone else who enters this house you are not welcome” after I said that I have not been able to record any evps. It may sound corny but that is what happened. I try to this day to record evps every night and before anyone questions anything, no, I do not believe it will cause any demons to come. I do believe there are mean spirits, just like there are mean people in this life, I would think that ones personality would follow them in death. I also don’t necessarily believe a mean spirit is a demon but again I believe there are demons. This topic has and will be discussed for many years to come.”

I really did say, ”In the name of Jesus if you are here to do any harm to me or anyone else who enters this house you are not welcome” and it is true after that I did not record any evps for a short time.

Well, after my last comment, he entered this;

it may be that men do not want to admit they may believe, you know a “manly” thing. Women are more willing to discuss this topic and I think it is because of their sensitivity. If men say they believe in God and Jesus Christ then they do believe in spirits. What we are talking about is Christians’ near-obsession with spiritual bodies apart from our Lord. If you are not a follower of Christ then I wouldn’t expect you to agree - frankly I’d expect you to be quite offended. If you are a follower of Christ, then of course as you can tell from this article that I’m not sure why you’re clinging to the reality of ghosts that are not angels or demons. The point of the article had nothing to do with women, but a few experiences I’ve had recently caused me to look back at what I initially considered a trivial article, with more thought. I’ve had conversations with many strong Christian women and they admit with almost the same percentage as men say they do struggling with sexual temptation of the eyes. These women simply said they were deceived and wasting their time chasing either fantasies at best or demonic influence at worst. I have a feeling that we’re miscommunicating on a much deeper level than “I believe in ghosts”, and “I don’t”. Why don’t you share with us your spiritual beliefs either here or you can shoot me an email. Reason I suggest that is that bantering back and forth on the web is a supreme waste of time, and life is short. Better to understand the context behind what a person is saying and where a conversation could or should be going”

The reason I found your website was because I was searching for answers in how people interpret or believe in what the bible said about ghost. When I typed in that question I found your web site. After reading a couple of comments, I felt a couple of the statements I read were made by people with closed minds.

I don’t think I could not believe in God yet believe in ghost nor could I believe in God and not believe in ghost. What are we when we meet our savior, are we of flesh and blood when that time comes? It is our soul, spirit or our ghostly bodies we become when the time comes.

The reason I commented on men or women believing is because you said you thought it was funny because 99% of the comments were left by women. I was just giving you a reason why that may be so. I still believe women are more likely to discuss the topic of ghost more then men. I am sorry if I may have offended you. It was not my intention to offend.

I have sat here for some time thinking about what you stated in the entry to me and if I should even answer you back, but as a strong woman I felt the need to answer you. I am not sure what the sexual temptation of the eyes have anything to do with anything I have said. I am sorry but again my feelings or opinions about that is, that some people make very poor judgments in their lives. I don’t think demonic influence has anything to do with being deceived but it may be a good excuse for their bad judgment. A strong Christian woman or man should just admit they did wrong and not try to put the blame anywhere. People just need own up to their own bad judgments. Fantasies are not all that bad as long as a person has the sense enough to know that, that’s all they are, just fantasies. As little girls we all have fantasies about having a wedding and having children, is it not right to chase that fantasy?

It was my intention to cause any bantering between you or anyone else, just looking for answers and stating my opinions. I respect people’s beliefs on whatever makes them a good and honest person in life. I apologize for posting on your web site and wasting your time. Thank you and God Bless”

As far as I am concerned the next posting I made will most likely be my last one at that website although just recently I have been receiving email from the website on reply’s being posted, I did not before so why now? In any case here was my last post;

With the entries on this page, it goes to show you there are many ways people interpret the bible. I think we all have a right to believe in what we feel is right no matter what others may say. I believe in God, Angels and Ghosts. I believe there are demons but they are something I do not even care to think of. I believe ghosts are lost, they do not want to leave or can’t find their way. I believe what you said Matt, “yet still watch that garbage on TV about ghosts and spirits”, is what got me the most. For a person who is a Christian how can you be so judgmental? That is one of the things I meant before about “closed minds”. I myself don’t have any specific denomination, I believe anyone can have faith in God and I do. I do not need for anyone to preach their interpretation on what they feel the bible says. God has given us a brain to think on our own.
In one of the post before I said something about , “a “manly” thing”, again as I said before, that was in response to you wondering why more women posted. It was not meant to offend anyone and I really do not feel that is the case, I have an open mind and I am willing to grow and learn.
My last post I had said the name of the group I am in but I am glad you did not post it. It is better for people to search for the information the seek if they believe in God, Angels and Ghost. I have my own site on the Paranormal and I have a small Angel site but I will not post either of them.

The conversation is between the rich man in hell and Abraham(long since dead at the time) in heaven. The chasm Abraham speaks of is obviously between heaven and hell. So this really says nothing about the existence, one way or the other, of ghosts.

Sorry forgot one thing. Reverend ------- you said, “So this really says nothing about the existence, one way or the other, of ghosts.” I beg to differ, does not the words “Holy Ghost” sound like anything you have heard before? As I said before it is the naming of which “Ghost” they refer to in my opinion.

I hope this blog does not offend anyone. It is my belief that I can worship God anywhere I want. I do not need to be of any specific denomination to believe in God. I do not need anyone to say I need to believe in what they feel the bible says. For me, I prefer to sit under an umbrella of trees or stars when talking to God, then sitting in a building...... And for ghost, in my opinion they do exist.

I really was raised to make my own judgement. I really thank my parents for that. I was never pushed to believe I had to follow a certain denomination. My mother never went to bed without saying the lords prayer but never demanded me to do the same. God is in you heart, not in a room with four walls. They have a place on beachside that there is a drive-in church, that is not even for me. For me when I hear someone preach, I tend to driftaway and really not even hear what they say. So I really like to be in a peaceful place when I feel the need to talk to God.

Everytime I think I'm just worm food when I die.....I stop and think of my personal expirences I've had with Christ and spirits. I know there is more to life than just going to work Monday - Friday and sports on Sunday. I want to strive with happiness and passion everyday of my own free will and break away from the robot society every chance I get. Going to church every Sunday, sitting in a pew listening........isn't my idea of worshiping my maker nor my savior.
Like you said, walking in the woods, sitting on a rock, under the sun, or under the stars....is the only true connection between life, death, & God.
Remember that movie, "Oh God" with George Burns? One phrase that is so true that I think of all the time....God couldn't make an up without a down, an in without an out, good without a bad, ect...
Well with humans, there are 3 types, Those who focus on the truth, Those who focus on the lies, and those who don't focus at all cause they will be forced to make a stand.
